I have no regrets. My life is the result of the cumulative effects, the physical and emotional challenges, the unanswered questions, fears, painful memories, personal disappointments, and countless broken dreams. I believe life is to awaken the invincible being within all of us, and a life without challenges, trials and tribulations, is a life void of success. It is through pain and sacrifice, that has given me strength and the wisdom to pursue happiness and live a beautiful life..
I was born with Cerebral Palsy with spasticity in the inferior members. A physical condition that has severely limited my mobility without support. Cerebral Palsy is a condition caused from medical negligence and is not hereditary. I have always accepted my condition and believe it has enhanced my spiritual growth and helped me to find my purpose in life.
I grew up with a loving family who wanted to protect me from the inevitable bullying from others. I was home schooled since the first grade and have fond memories of my beloved brother including me in his after school activities and teaching me the newest games he learned in school. When others had no faith for my success, it was my beloved brothers who believed in me.
Then, when I had a family of my own, it was my children, Michael and Franklin who became my teachers of Life. I believe dreams without action are nothing more than an illusion. That is why I am thankful for the courage and determination to continue to see my dreams become a reality.
Living abroad had its difficulties and challenges for our small family. But when the diagnosis of autism become a reality for my oldest son, the magnitude of difficulties became unbearable. My personal challenges seemed minuscule compared to the unknown future of my child. Now, all the attention and focus was to determine the best path for my son.
My devoted husband has always stood by my side. He never placed blame, even though I felt the guilt for having dared the challenges of motherhood. He comforted me with his compassionate soul which helped my outward appearance to be strong, though I was torn apart on the inside. The echo of negatively spoken predictions from others, was beginning to make my inner strength wither away.
As I was silently processing the diagnosis of autism, it became more important to me to assure both of our children would not be treated any differently. The mere presence of Franklin, reminded us to always give fair and equal opportunities and consequences t both children. The silence abruptly ended in thirty days, when the urgency to seek information and prepare for a new path became a simultaneous reaction. It was a magical moment in our relationship as husband and wife, to know we were traveling on the same train in search of our next new path, together.
Thanks to the blessings of autism, I wrote my first book, "The Book for Your Future", inspired by my son, Michael. Not even my own challenging difficulties prevented my dream of seeing Michael achieve his goals. Today, I enjoy watching his progress as he becomes a happy, goal-oriented young man making his own decisions. Despite the challenges of autism, he continues to excel as a student at the State University and has many plans for his future. Do not limit your child. Embrace their differences and discover their potential.
My purpose in life became reborn as I followed my internal calling. As a Life Coach, I feel my own life has been renewed. My clients come from all walks of life to seek my services to help balance their energies and discover the purpose of their own lives.
My mission is to awaken the inner potential of every human being, and support them to overcome circumstances by transforming their own life, their family and the community.
